Montmartre, the highest hill in Paris, is a section we didn't visit in 2011 so it was all new for us. Our excellent local guide, Brad from California, was really easy to understand - no French accent! The Montmartre district was home to many struggling artists (think Van Gogh and Picasso) living in Paris where rent was cheap and the cabaret nightlife exciting. Brad made that very real for us.

Sacré-Coeur Basilica, Byzantine looking but only 130 years old

How many ways can you say "I love you"? The wall has many!

Le Passe-Muraille (the Passer-Through-Walls), is the title of a story by Marcel Aymé of Dutilleul who had a hidden talent which eventually got him stuck in a bad spot!

So many lovely places for walking away from the hustle and bustle
