Our usual habit when we're going on a tour of whatever kind is to arrive early so we can explore some on our own and get settled in. Paris was no exception. Our Sicily tour ended and we had two days between it and Paris so an extra night in Catania to visit Mount Etna and an extra one in Paris were perfect.

Paris is such an interesting and walk-able city. Rick Steves has several downloadable walking tours for the city.
Napoleon's Tomb
Les Invalides had so much to offer besides Napoleon's tomb. The war museums were quite interesting and well done also. We made it through the WWI portion but didn't do justice to the WWII section. Our history background for WWI wasn't as good as that for WWII so we felt like our time was well spent.
